Every year, approximately 27,000 New York City 8th graders take the SHSAT to gain admission to one of the NYC Specialized High Schools. These include Stuyvesant H.S., Bronx H.S. of Science, and Brooklyn Tech H.S. Only 2,500 students are accepted in total to the original three. With an unparalleled academic reputation, acceptance to these schools opens a world of opportunities both for college admissions & career opportunities. Seats are exclusive and limited. With over 2,614 admissions since 1994, Khan's Tutorial is NYC's #1 academy for the SHSAT. Call Khan's today for a FREE CLASS and a FREE DIAGNOSTIC exam.

Common Core 7-8

Our 7-8 Six Month package consists of two 2-hour classes each week for 24 weeks, for a total of 48 classes. During each of our 2 hour classes, your child's KT Instructor will cover the Common Core curriculum for ELA, Math & Writing. In addition, we also cover any Science, or Social Studies material, if our student needs it. Every class ends with our student's Instructor assigning appropriate homework for them to complete by the next class. We prepare our students to master the NYS Common Core Curriculum to ultimately do well on their Citywide and Statewide Examinations. Additionally, we help with school exams, homework & other projects.

Test for Admissions into Catholic High Schools (TACHS)

Admission to the Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens or the Archdiocese of New York in 2014-2015 is determined in part by the results of the TACHS exam administered in November. The exam content covers Reading, Math, language, and general abstract reasoning ability. An examination fee of $52 includes registration materials, a student handbook, test materials, and the reporting of scores to the three high schools of your choice. Students in the eighth grade during the 2013-2014 school year, wishing to apply for Fall 2014 admission to Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens and Archdiocese of New York, are eligible to take the TACHS Examination in November 2013.

SSAT/ISEE

The SSAT/ISEE is made for students in grades 3 through PG and is administered on the Elementary, Middle, and Upper Levels.  There are two types of SSAT/ISEE test administrations: the Standard administration, which is given on eight Saturdays during the academic year at test sites around the world, and the Flex administration, which is an individual or group test administered on any date other than the eight Standard dates. The SSAT/ISEE if for students that are seeking entrance to private or independence schools throughout the world. The SSAT/ISEE is also a Norm-Reference Test, so your grade is a reflection of how you did verses your peers.
