Queens, NY - On April 8th, 2018, Khan’s Tutorial (KT) hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony for students who gained acceptance to NYC’s Specialized High Schools. Students and their families gathered at the Colden Auditorium at Queens College to celebrate a year of hard work and the resulting success at KT’s largest event of the year.

In 2018 alone, KT helped 371 students gain acceptance to Stuyvesant High School, the Bronx High School of Science, Brooklyn Technical High School, and the new Specialized High Schools. This fall approximately 9% of Stuyvesant’s incoming class, 9% of Brooklyn Technical High School’s incoming class, and 12% of Bronx High School of Science’s incoming class will be Khan’s Tutorial students.

"It was an absolute honor to celebrate the achievement of Khan’s Tutorial SHSAT acceptances alongside Stuyvesant HS Principal Eric Contreras and Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation CEO Dr. Mathew Mandery. This year, Principal Contreras gave his speech as a Specialized HS parent in front of hundreds of fellow Khan’s parents whose children will also be attending a Specialized High School. Seeing the proud families makes me look forward to the day my own children will prepare at Khan’s for their SHSAT prep. Since the SHSAT is changing every year, I urge every parent of a 6th or 7th grader to contact Khan’s right away. Our classes are filling up and we are continuously adding more to our SHSAT curriculum to ensure another 371 acceptances next year!” said Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO & President of Khan’s Tutorial.

“I am thrilled to celebrate another successful year with our dedicated SHSAT families. I would like to thank our talented team of Instructors and Curriculum Managers for keeping our content current and competitive. Every lesson, every practice problem, and every diagnostic exam is carefully crafted and analyzed for our students. The results are clear - our team’s hard work has lead to the success of our students and their families. I am confident in saying that Khan’s Tutorial’s SHSAT program is the best in New York City,” said Mohammad Hossain, Vice President of Khan’s Tutorial and the Director of KT’s SHSAT Program.

With 11 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and in the Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Astoria, Sunnyside, Ozone Park, and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income, new immigrant neighborhoods. A total of 2,986 students have gained admission to New York City’s Specialized High Schools through Khan’s Tutorial since its inception in 1994.
