Queens, NY -- November 4th, 2018, This past weekend, Khan’s Tutorial held its first ever Charity Basketball Tournament. Khan’s Tutorial branches from all locations came together to John Bowne High School to participate in a friendly competition for a great cause. Each team picked a charity to represent in the tournament and the winning team had all the proceeds of the night go to the charity of their choice. Khan’s Tutorial Brooklyn, playing for Islamic Relief USA, earned the winning title at the end of the night after tirelessly playing four matches. Islamic Relief USA is a non-profit charity operating in 40 countries, which helps millions annually by responding to emergencies, providing water to countries that lack resources to get it, and offering orphan scholarships.
“This was our first time doing something like this, and we look forward to doing it again, year after year. It’s for a great cause and it was a very fun opportunity to get all the staff members from every branch together. I definitely saw a boost in staff morale and camaraderie as different branches were cheering for each other. Every single team fought really hard for their charity and I want to congratulate KT Brooklyn for their well-deserved win. All proceeds will be going to Islamic Relief USA. Next year, we hope to make it even bigger and better and do our part for the community.” says Vice President of Khan’s Tutorial, Mohammad Hossain.
