New York, NY – August 2, 2017 – Khan’s Tutorial CEO & President Dr. Ivan Khan and Khan’s Tutorial Chairperson Mrs. Nayeema Khan recently spoke at a round table discussion at the United Nations. The discussions, entitled “Intergenerational Dialogues on Sustainable Development Goals” were held to raise awareness about how individuals can become agents of social change. Khan’s Tutorial leadership spoke on tackling challenges in our community and empowerment through education.
“It was a very fulfilling experience to participate in the United Nations Intergenerational Dialogues on Sustainable Development Goals with my mother Nayeema Khan. The summit covered key dialogues around breaking the cycle of poverty, access to employment, as well as healthy living across generations. As a medical doctor & public health graduate that now serves as an educator to the community, it was refreshing to discuss ways to improve challenging items such as aging, emotional intelligence in teens, as well as medical education in the United States. Dr. Padmini Murthy's panel discussion generated many objectives that we look forward to supporting at Khan's Tutorial.” said Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO & President of Khan’s Tutorial.
Other attendees included Anne Williams-Isom, CEO of Harlem Children's Zone, Cornell William Brooks, former President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and Ravi Karkara, Deputy Executive Director, UN Women.
