Manhattan, NY – February 12, 2016 – Earlier this week, Khan's Tutorial was invited by her royal highness Princess Dr. Nisreen El-Hashimite, Executive Director and Founder of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust, to the United Nations Headquarters to speak and to celebrate the first International Day of Women & Girls in Science. “Not only do we have dozens of female managers, directors, and mentors throughout all of Khan’s locations but we are training these exceptional young women to interview for competitive programs in the sciences including but not limited to the Sophie Davis Biomedical Program where our president graduated from, the St. John’s University Pharm D Program, and the Brooklyn College Bio Medical Program in the last few years alone,” said Mrs. Nayeema Khan.

“Today, Khan Foundation nears the completion of the second year of our College Access Program. Every Spring we are proud to hear about college acceptances & scholarships for the dozens of high school juniors & seniors who participate in our annual FREE 6 month program with FREE SAT prep. Next summer, we hope to launch our Women in Leadership, Education & Internship Program for young women in High School that will be paired up with internships in their communities as they simultaneously take leadership classes at our Foundation,” said Dr. Ivan Khan.
Finally, former student and Instructor at KT Astoria, Faizah Yeasmin, spoke about her passion for science and her time at Khan’s Tutorial. Faizah, a graduate of Stuyvesant High School is currently a sophomore at NYU’s College of Nursing, studying to one day become a Neonatal Nurse.
“As a former student at Khan’s Tutorial, I looked up to my Instructors as more than just teachers. They were great mentors and role models in many aspects, especially when it came to pushing myself to do my best academically. Their dedication, confidence, and patience with their students are traits I hope to build on when working with both my own students and patients. “
For the past 21 years, Khan’s Tutorial’s vision has been to provide quality education at affordable costs.
