During the week of training, top Khan’s Tutorial Instructors learn how to help better serve the students in their respective branches. Furthermore, they learn key principles in teaching, leadership, and management. In preparation of upcoming exams, trainees are taught how to increase the quality of learning to ensure all students are prepared. Khan’s Tutorial CEO & President Dr. Ivan Khan is Inducted into the National Public Health Honor Society at SUNY Downstate School of Public Health

New York, NY, -  Last week, Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO & President of Khan’s Tutorial was honored by SUNY Downstate’s School of Public Health. Dr. Khan completed the combined medical program at the Sophie Davis School of BioMedical Education/CUNY Medical School, and went onto earn his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) & Masters in Public Health (M.P.H.) from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Khan was inducted into the National Public Health Honor Society, in the presence of his mother, KT Chairperson Mrs. Nayeema Khan, his wife, KT High School Achievement Program Director, Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan, and his son, Ian Khan.

New York, NY, -  This past month, SAT scores have been released and Khan’s Tutorial would like to congratulate the following Khan’s Tutorial SAT students for their fantastic scores on the March 2019 SATs. Two March SAT’s were administered: the March 9th exam and the in-school March 27th exam. Between these two exams, 47 KT students scored above 1400, and 47 achieved 1500+. Khan’s Tutorial’s highest scorer for this round of scores is Adib R. with a near perfect score of 1580/1600. Displayed below are KT students who scored a 1450 and higher.

Stuyvesant High School Hosts Parent Workshop for Bengali Parents at Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT & Regents Center in Jackson Heights

Jackson Heights, NY – Last weekend, leaders from Stuyvesant High School hosted a Parent Workshop for Bengali families at Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT & Regents Center. The workshop, lead by Ms. Casey J. Pedrick, Assistant Principal & Pupil Personnel Services and Ms. Dina Ingram, Director of Family Engagement was intended to help families understand Stuyvesant coursework, maximize parent resources and tools, and navigate the college application process. Parents were able to ask Stuyvesant teachers and guidance counselors questions and hear from Stuyvesant students and alumnus about their high school experience. Khan’s Tutorial provided space for the event as well as translation services for attendees.

Currently she is a student at the highly selective Trinity School and plans to study political science and economics during her time at Columbia. This year, Khan’s Tutorial helped 358 students gain acceptance into New York City’s prestigious Specialized High Schools. Families celebrated the success of their students and also received invitations to KT’s Annual SHSAT Awards Ceremony taking place at the Colden Auditorium at Queens College next month. Khan’s Tutorial Helps 339 (and Counting!) SHSAT Students Gain Acceptance to NYC’s Esteemed Specialized High Schools

New York, NY - March 21, 2019 – This past Monday marked the release of the results of the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT), the sole determinant of admission into New York City’s prestigious Specialized High Schools. Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science, and Brooklyn Technical High School offer acceptances to a total of about 3,000 students per year out of 30,000 students who take the challenging exam. This year, due to Mayor DeBlasio’s expansion of the Discovery Program, there is a scarcity of Specialized High Schools seats and overall more competition due to higher cut off scores.

Khan’s Tutorial Holds Strategy Meeting for High School Achievement Program Quality Managers

Queens, NY – This past weekend High School Achievement Program Quality Managers from across Khan’s Tutorial’s 11 locations gathered at the brand new SAT & Regents Center in Jackson Heights for a strategy meeting. The meeting, led by program leader and Columbia graduate Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan was held to discuss new changes in Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT Program. The new program which started this month boasts a continuously updated and customized curriculum designed to boost student scores. Furthermore, students meet for 1-2 sessions per week for 80 hours over the course of the program to effectively master the exam. In the past two years, Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT Program has helped hundreds of students score above a 1300, with many surpassing 1400 and 1500.

Queens NY, - Later this month, Mrs. Nayeema Khan, Chairperson of Khan’s Tutorial and recently appointed UN Goodwill Ambassador, will be hosting an educational workshop for mothers at Khan’s Tutorial’s brand new SAT & Regents Location in Jackson Heights. The event is in celebration of International Women’s Day and aims to empower families, particularly mothers of children grades 7-12, through education. The free workshop will feature special guests, a speaker’s panel, and will teach South Asian, new immigrant mothers about parenting.

The event will take place on March 30th, 2019 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at 37-26 74th St 2nd Floor (across the street from Patel Brothers/Indian Taj Restaurant).

I personally remember the role that my parents Dr. Mansur Khan and Mrs. Nayeema Khan played in helping me get through my academics and my youth as a teenager. New York, NY – February 16, 2018, This weekend students and parents gathered at Khan’s Tutorial’s brand new SAT & Regents location Jackson Heights. The new expansion facility will house Khan’s High School Achievement Program students preparing for the SATs, SAT IIs,  ACTs, and Regents Examinations. In the past two years, Khan’s Tutorial’s High School Achievement Program has helped over 239 students score 1300+ on the SAT on their way to some of the top colleges and universities in the nation. As Khan’s Tutorial enters its third decade, it aims to increase student scores and educate for life by giving back to the community.
