The Dr. Mansur Khan SHSAT Opportunity Scholarship was established in 2014 to help increase the number of students from underrepresented African American and Latino communities in NYC's Specialized High Schools and continues to grow in its success with scholarship winners.
This year eight scholarship winners gained acceptance into New York City’s prestigious specialized high schools across six Khan’s Tutorial branches.
New York, NY - March 5, 2016 – Earlier this month marked the release of the results of the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT), the sole determinant of admission into New York City’s prestigious Specialized High Schools including Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science, Brooklyn Technical High School, and the new Specialized High Schools. The top three Specialized High Schools offer acceptances to a total of about 3,000 students per year out of 30,000 students who take the challenging exam. The SHSAT program at Khan’s Tutorial (KT) is conducted year round with students starting classes 8-12 months before their exam. Over the last 21 years, KT has helped over 2,214 students gain admission to the Specialized High Schools.
